“Earlier this year, CEI partnered with LULAC District 17, El Concilio Family Services, Oxnard College, and local producers to educate more than 130 high school and college students throughout Ventura County about careers in the energy industry.”

“The program, Careers in Energy, teaches students about different careers paths, the importance of STEM studies and the value of joining clubs and organizations. Additionally, students had the opportunity to participate in hands-on workshops with energy employees from Aera Energy and California Resources Corporation that showed what goes on every day in the industry.”
“On October 24, CEI and its partners will be presenting this program to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors during their meeting. If you have time, we encourage you to stop by and listen to the presentation!”

Re: City District Elections
Greetings from the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) District 17. We are the largest and oldest civil rights organization in the country. One of our core principles is the civic engagement of Latinos in their communities.
We are pleased to offer comment this evening in support of your consideration of adoption of the Resolution proposed on your agenda.
There is nothing more significant than the active engagement of a city’s residents in the decisions within their neighborhoods and the broader community of our county, state, and nation.
I don’t need to offer this council any advice on doing the right thing for democracy. I bring congratulations from LULAC District 17 that you have the forsight to make the next leap in service to Ventura residents.
LULAC District 17 offers whatever support you may need and seeks to represent all community residents in achieving fair and active representation for the betterment of the City of Ventura.
